Saint-Gilles-les-Bains has a new restaurant brand : Léon Fish Brasserie has opened its doors, last December 12, on the “whale’s tail” square in the marina. Its sea brasserie concept is in keeping with the times.
The initiative goes to Fabrice Noël : after a career as an international manager in mass distribution, the latter chose to become a franchisee of the Bertrand group in 2019 in Reunion by opening a brasserie pub under the Au Bureau au Port brand. He does it again today, associated with Patrick Ah-Sing, to open the first “Léon” in all of French Overseas. The brand is also part of the Bertrand restaurant group, which developed based on the iconic brand (“since 1893”) a new concept of “fish brasserie” where mussels and fries prepared according to several recipes are not the only arguments on the menu. The Saint-Gilles restaurant offers 69 indoor seats and a terrace with 105 seats. For decoration, the establishment gives pride of place to raw elements and materials “seaside spirit”, with contemporary touches : ropes, water green ceramics, lockers, filigree crustaceans and fish…
Sea food in a brasserie atmosphere
The opening of the restaurant is also the opportunity to discover Léon Fish’s brand new menu with the “fish” recipe. & fries » cooked to order, le fish burger, the tartars, braised fish and for those with a sweet tooth, whole lobster roasted in semi-salted butter… Léon also emphasizes conviviality, with seafood, fritto misto or homemade acras to share at aperitif time, accompanied by a cocktail or a beer, in a seaside brasserie atmosphere. For Fabrice Noël, “The opening of the Léon Fish Brasserie in Gilles-les-Bains will allow people to discover an emblematic brand thanks to its new Sea Food brasserie concept with creative fish and shellfish recipes. Furthermore, I don’t know a better place than Reunion Island to enjoy good seafood dishes.”. The Léon Fish franchise also increased its openings last year in mainland France.. It has more than 80 establishments in France.
