The ecomaterial library : a unique concept in Reunion

Publicityspot_img

The Zadvat group opened in June, in the back of the Offital showroom., an exhibition space dedicated to furniture design and eco-designed interior architecture materials. Fruit of a collaboration with the architect designer Philippe Sidelsky, this unique space in Reunion Island reveals the level of Reunion Island achievements and know-how in this area.

That Reunion companies and designers are capable of producing innovative, beautifully crafted furniture from recycled materials, we already knew this thanks largely to Philippe Sidelsky. But this creativity lacked a fixed place of exhibition, where a clientele of individuals and professionals, especially interior designers, can concretely approach objects and materials and observe their level of design and manufacturing. This has been done for three months at the initiative of Shenaz Zadvat, president of Offital, entrepreneur committed to social and environmental responsibility who has made Offital the number one in workspace management in Reunion. The Zadvat group is a B to B player with its companies IM Zdvat, importer wholesaler, Obesity, expert in the design of workspaces and communities, et Protect’Homs, specialized in personal protective equipment, hygiene and safety. The group's strategic orientation towards CSR results in a diversification of its offer towards the broader furniture sector., integrating well-being into its general policy. It is with this in mind that Shenaz Zadvat created this exhibition space inside the Offital store in Sainte-Marie, offering a showcase for sustainable local know-how in terms of furniture and decoration.. “CSR is at the heart of our development. Beyond import, we want to promote local talents and productions. The ecomaterial library, who wishes to establish a bridge between Reunionese tradition and innovation, is our contribution to a more sustainable future”, declared Shenaz Zadvat during the inauguration of this space on May 30.

A showcase of Reunion design

The ecomaterial library permanently showcases a range of 100% local productions and innovations. On an altogether limited space, he manages to clearly highlight around twenty exhibitors. We see in particular a deckchair born from a pallet, a plastic chair made by 3D printing from melted PET caps, a screen made of bamboo and weaving of recycled fibers, etc. It is not a place of purchase but of exhibition. Associated with the name of each company, a QR Code links to further explanations on objects and materials and to a contact. “Reunion is full of talent. It was in response to a personal project that I was carrying out for the hotel industry that I was led to look for innovative craftsmen working with these new materials or with natural materials.. There are no imports in this place, everything is eco-designed and look at the level of quality and creativity” , argues Philippe Sidelsky by showing the seats of a major brand, next to the ecomaterial library : “Reunion eco-designed furniture stands comparison with the best of international design.  »
