Vangassaye brought up to date

For his first Arranged of the year 2021, Maison Isautier invites you to rediscover the wild mandarin or Vangassaye. A fruit that has become rare on market stalls, which reveals treasures of flavors in an Arranged halfway between tradition and innovation.

“Mandarine Sauvage” is the ninth perfume which completes the Arrangés Isautier collection.. Called vangassaye in Reunion, wild tangerine, introduced to the island in 1671, takes its name from the Malagasy “Voangissaye”, which means good orange. Citrus reticulata White, from its botanical name, is quite rare but remains cultivated in the south of the island, notably in Saint-Philippe, Langevin, Saint-Joseph or La plaine des Grègues. The fruit has an orange skin which protects a tender flesh full of benefits. Rich in vitamin C, its pulp is full of tangy juice. Rums & Punchs Isautier could not miss this small citrus fruit typical of the south of the island, cradle of the House.

Authentic innovation
The Arrangé Mandarine Sauvage offers a light and unique flavor which remains in the continuity of the creations of Maison Isautier, because they are sour, gourmet, spicy or fruity, the flavors of Isautier arranged rums are a tribute to the perfumes of the island. Bark and sugar, macerated for several days, are the basis of this new natural recipe without additives, focused on the intensity of the fruit. Thanks to its ancestral know-how, Maison Isautier has been able to bring out the best in wild mandarin. The new Arrangé combines bitterness and sweetness to give a perfect balance, fresh and light. At nose, vangassaye reveals fresh and fruity aromas. This new Arrangé is consumed frosted, alone or with sparkling water or champagne. “With the Arranged, we want to innovate while transmitting the terroir. We pay particular attention to the quality of our ingredients. Our Arrangés carry within them all the intensity of the Reunion terroir” declares Cyril Isautier, director of Rums & Punchs Isautier.
