Faced with the decline in paper mail, La Poste is showing creativity by looking for new growth drivers. Postal workers take on new missions. Among them, first and last mile transportation for professionals.

A little over a year ago, the La Poste group officially presented its new Log’issimo subsidiary, providing logistics services to professionals, at the national level. Faced with the stagnation of traditional mail, La Poste is developing other activities mobilizing its teams, its regional logistics platforms and its fleet of vehicles. Log’issimo is also active in Reunion and, since last year, the Chaudron logistics platform integrates, in addition to postal operations, new services. “Log’issimo deploys its expertise in several areas : logistics services for traders, food, general service logistics, storage, tailor-made logistics operations. We position ourselves on first and last mile services. We target small and large businesses and communities for the collection and delivery of small goods and documents or for any other service included in our offer.", explains Christophe Cazal, director of the mail-parcel services branch in Reunion. La Poste’s strengths in this redeployment of activities ? “Our logistics at work six days a week, our knowledge of the territory, our professionalism and the trust enjoyed by our staff. Everyone knows they can open their door to their postman.”, argues Christophe Cazal.
