The first stone of RunEva, the future waste recovery center in the south and west of the island, was laid on September 10 in Pierrefonds, in the presence of Clément Beaune, Secretary of State for European Affairs. Worn by Ileva, the mixed union bringing together Civis, Casud and TCO, the project requires an investment of 220 million euros. Sa conception, its creation and operation for ten years were entrusted, as part of a global public performance market, to a group led by the French group CNIM, one of the world leaders in the sector. Spie Batignolles, Colas and GTOI are in charge of civil engineering, the Dutch group Bollegraaf for waste sorting and preparation of solid recovered fuel. The main equipment of the multi-sector center will in fact be the energy recovery unit, with a powerful 18 megawatts, equivalent to the consumption of 11,000 homes. RunEVA will also include a methanization unit and is due to enter service in 2024. The cluster benefits from 16 million euros in subsidies from Ademe and 21 million euros from the European Union..
