In 2022, the Authentic Little Ourson Marshmallow from the French chocolatier CÉMOI, whose recipe has remained unchanged since 1962, has not aged.

The secret of such longevity ? An original recipe, unchanged and inimitable known by more than seven out of ten French people and which comforts young and old from generation to generation since 1962. To celebrate your birthday properly, the Authentic Little Ourson Marshmallow CÉMOI has planned many surprises and new products for all the chocolate highlights of the year… It was in the 1960s that M. Cathy, manager of the CÉMOI factory in Villeneuve-d’Ascq (Hauts-de-France), has the idea of launching a chocolate-coated marshmallow confection in the shape of a teddy bear. However, the house's salespeople are very skeptical. Luckily for all foodies, M. Cathy doesn't give up. He refines his project and makes a few copies of his treat. During a company meeting, he places a few teddy bears on the table. Success awaits : everyone devours the Teddy Bears !

A family treat
The Authentic Little Ourson Guimauve left the workshops of Villeneuve-d’Ascq in 1962 to become the gourmet accomplice of families. The treat has conquered the hearts of all audiences. The famous recipe combining the tenderness of an inimitable marshmallow and the crunch of milk chocolate remains faithful in every way to the one that has brought joy to all generations since 1962. This intergenerational product is still made today in Villeneuve-d’Ascq.

CEMOI, MAJOR PLAYER IN CHOCOLATE
The CÉMOI Group today employs 3,200 employees, including 2,200 in France, where it concentrates nine of its fourteen production units. The Group collects conventional and organic cocoa beans from producers, and transforms them mainly in France. In 2020, it achieved a turnover of 750 million euros. Its know-how has allowed it to develop in different markets : industrial chocolate users, professional users (chocolatiers, pastry chefs, restaurateurs) as well as the sale in mass distribution of finished products under its own brands or with a private label. Since July 2021, CÉMOI is part of the Belgian family group Sweet Products, which includes the Baronie Groups, one of the main European manufacturers of chocolate and “Belgian Ice Cream”.
