An exclusivity agreement was concluded at the end of June in favor of the company UBP (United Basalt Products) for the acquisition of materials manufacturing and trading companies held in Reunion Island by Pascal Leandri and his senior executives, including the “flagship” Préfabéton. The operation was presented to the staff representative bodies of the companies concerned and must still receive the approval of the French Competition Authority and the UBP general meeting.. It should be effective at the end of 2022 or in the first half of 2023. UBP, listed on the Stock Exchange of Mauritius, has as its main activity in the sister island the manufacture and sale of construction materials. The group has also expanded internationally, in Madagascar, in Sri Lanka and Reunion Island where it opened its Drymat subsidiary in 2019, which markets the products of its company Drymix (ready-to-use mortars). It has a total of 12 production units, more than 1,400 employees and more than 4,000 shareholders.
