Specialized in psychiatric care and motor rehabilitation, the group Les Flamboyants had posed, fin 2021, the first stone of this psychiatric clinic located in Bras-Panon, shortly after the inauguration of its South health center in Saint-Pierre. With, eventually, 113 new jobs created, this development makes the group the first private employer in the municipality.
Everything went as planned : after two years of work, Les Flamboyants Est clinic, first private mental health establishment in the Eastern microregion, opened its doors in March 2023. This important establishment, model and innovative in its design, was officially inaugurated on January 30. Especially, the Les Flamboyants Est clinic offers the first geriatric psychiatry unit in Reunion Island, intended for elderly people who are depressed and losing their bearings. Likewise, the emergency reception and reinforced surveillance unit for suicidal people is a first in the private medical sector in Reunion. With this new clinic, the health group now operates five establishments in Reunion : three specialized in the management of depression and neuroses and two, in functional rehabilitation.. It thus contributes to the rebalancing of the territorial healthcare offer for the benefit of the populations of the east of the island.. Counting a total of 76 beds, the clinic will include, when his medical team is complete, a child psychiatry unit (12-18 ans), a young adult unit (18-25 ans), an adult unit, as well as the reinforced surveillance and geriatric psychiatry units. It also includes a day hospital with 30 places., and anyone feeling the need to speak with a professional can make an appointment by contacting the clinic reception, whether or not she is referred by her treating physician. The investment amounts to more than 31,5 million euros. Between doctors, paramedical personnel, technical and administrative, 113 jobs will be created. A recruitment effort is planned for Bras-Panon and its surroundings.
A therapeutic architecture
The laying of the first stone of the future Les Flamboyants Est clinic took place on December 2, 2021.. Particularly architecturally studied, the new mental health establishment benefits from the experience of the group's existing establishments. “Architecture is an important therapeutic vector”, then underlined Gérard d’Abbadie, founder and president of the Les Flamboyants group, and Aude d’Abbadie-Savalli, group general manager. With a surface area of 8,400 m2, the building is inspired on two levels by high-end hotels, with large spaces and circulation corridors making maximum use of natural lighting through numerous bay windows. Two planted patios and two gardens contribute to generating a soothing atmosphere, close to nature, while ensuring patient safety. Sports field, creative activity room, therapeutic cooking, Fitness room, hydromassage, etc. : the support offered associated with the treatments is reminiscent of the well-being services offered by a hotel. The clinic includes a restaurant and has its own technical staff.
