On February 13, Crédit Moderne made public the results of its survey of consumers in Reunion Island., of the Antilles and Guyana. Without surprise, inflation has affected consumer morale with a rating of 4,95/10 against 5,17 in the previous edition of the study. Faced with rising prices, Reunion Islanders are cautious in their purchasing intentions for 2023 (25% want to increase their spending compared to 41% in 2020). Savings intentions are also expected to decline. Travel and leisure purchasing intentions remain ahead of home design and renovation work. 86% of Reunion Islanders consider themselves responsible consumers, paying attention to the origin of the products purchased and their environmental impact, compared to 83% on average in the 4 departments of the study. Durability and repairability indices are important tools in choosing the right products for more than 8 in 10 island residents. They even say 57% are ready to pay a little dearly to have these indicators.
