The number of unemployed people required to look for work and without activity, registered with Pôle Emploi in category A, was on average 131,150 in the 1st quarter of 2021 in Reunion, according to the latest official statistics. It went down by 0,8%, or 1,120 people, compared to the previous quarter, and 1,1% over one year. The total number of people registered with Pôle Emploi in the 1st quarter, including those who were able to carry out an activity over the period (categories A, B and C) was 163,120, slightly increasing (+0,1%) compared to the previous quarter (160 more registered) and increasing by 1,2% over one year. The drop in the number of unemployed people under 25 registered in category A reaches -2,3% (-1,2% over one year), it is 1% for 25-49 year olds (-2,6% over one year) while the number of registrants aged 50 and over is stable over the quarter (+1,7% over one year).
