The drop in the number of unemployed continued in the first quarter of 2023 in Reunion, where the number of job seekers required to look for work and without activity (category A) stood at 118,590, number down from 0,4% in three months and 4,2% over one year. These values are, however, slightly lower than the national figures. By including job seekers who carried out an activity over the period, Pôle Emploi had 155,360 registered in the first quarter (-0,1% in three months and -1,3% over one year). A trend reversal is confirmed between age categories : the number of young unemployed is on the rise again (+1,9% in three months, +5% over one year) while it is declining among 25-49 year olds and among seniors.
