Unemployment is still falling

Unlike the metropolis, where the unemployment curve has reversed, the number of people registered with Pôle Emploi continues to decline in Reunion.

In the third trimester, the number of job seekers required to look for work and without activity (category A) averaged 116,640 on the island, number down from 0,7% over the quarter (880 fewer registered) and 2,6% over one year. The number of job seekers registered in category A decreased by 0,2% in three months (more +5,3% over one year) ; he went back 0,6% among 25-49 year olds (-3,6% over one year) and 1,3% among those aged 50 and over (-4% over one year). Including those registered in categories B and C (those who carried out an activity over the period), the number of unemployed reached 153,580 in the 3rd quarter (-0,1% in three months, i.e. 210 fewer registered, -1,2% over one year). By age group, the number of under-25s registered in these three categories increases by 0,6% over the quarter and 5% over one year. On the other hand, it declines among those registered over 25 years old.. For the whole of France (mainland and overseas), the number of unemployed increases by 0,6% in the 3rd quarter in category A and 0,2% across all categories. In Martinique and Guyana, the number of people registered with Pôle Emploi also remains slightly down in the 3rd quarter, while it progresses from 0,1% in Guadeloupe.
