The turnover of the 4,314 VSEs and SMEs in Reunion monitored as part of the Image PME survey by the Council of the Order of Chartered Accountants and the Sagis Institute is down overall by 2,5% in the 2nd quarter of 2024, compared to the same quarter of last year.
This is the third consecutive quarter of decline, after thirteen quarters of increase. In the industrial sector, turnover tends to stabilize, under the effect of an increase among VSEs and SMEs in the manufacturing industry and a decline in the water sector, sanitation and waste. In construction and transport, the drop in turnover is estimated at -4,7 %, with a more pronounced decline in the construction sector. In the services sector, an average drop of 1,5% of turnover is recorded, with contrasting developments : increases in the areas of education, human health and social action, administrative support services and arts and entertainment, declines in scientific and technical activities, financial activities and insurance, accommodation and catering, information and communication and real estate activities. In the commercial sector, finally, overall turnover is down by 2,1% over the quarter.
