As part of the discussion of the Social Security Financing Bill, the Senate unanimously adopted, beginning of November, a provision allowing construction companies in Martinique, Guadeloupe and Réunion to benefit from the so-called enhanced competitiveness scale for the years 2024 and 2025. This scale consists of a total exemption from employer contributions. Construction was not previously one of the sectors eligible for this system.. The exemption from employer contributions will apply to salaries up to 2,7 minimum wage. The budgetary cost of this measure, which will temporarily reduce the cost of labor in construction, is estimated at around 50 million euros per year. The amendment adopted by the Senate was carried in particular by the senators from La Réunion Viviane Malet and Nassimah Dindar.
