At the end of a negotiation between all the partners in the production and distribution sectors, the list of products appearing in the “standard trolley” of the Quality Price Shield has been modified to take into account high inflation (7,1% on food products in the last twelve months, according to INSEE). However, its capped amount (348 euros) and the number of products (153) remain unchanged. The moderation agreement and the charter relating to the new list were signed on November 2 at the prefecture. The products have been available since November 7 in the 61 stores participating in the operation. Like previous years, a delegation from the Price Observatory, margins and revenues was associated with negotiations between state services and partners. The latter undertake to allow the monitoring of the price of the basket, with transmission to the State, every month by each of the brands, the price level of the products and the basket, sales volumes by product, possible supply difficulties and shortages experienced, as well as observations of all kinds on market dysfunctions. In order to limit the risk of breakage, the volumes negotiated between suppliers and distributors are guaranteed. The prefecture also plans the monthly publication of a press release on the evolution of BQP prices, the average price of the basket in the territory and compliance with commitments.
