The Southern Urban Community was awarded the “circular economy” label in January by Ademe, the national agency for ecological transition, during the European Energy Transition Conference held in Dunkirk. And the label, awarded for four years, rewards the actions and projects undertaken by the intercommunity on its territory (Between Two, Saint Joseph, Saint-Philippe and Le Tampon) : creation of local sectors in favor of waste reduction, support for those involved in the reuse and repurposing of objects, implementation of new local services for green waste management, fight against food waste in schools… 26 communities and organizations have to date obtained the “circular economy” label, including 2 in Overseas.
