The Sica Révia cooperative, group of cattle breeders, renewed the common charter of engagement with mass distribution on April 26. With this charter, breeders undertake to guarantee the food safety required by French and European health regulations. In 2022, more than 16,000 quality checks were carried out on 1,233 tonnes of meat carcass equivalent delivered to butchers and distributors, with an almost zero customer complaint rate. The charter also guarantees consumers better readability of local products on supermarket shelves., increased transparency on breeding and processing practices, respecting biodiversity and soil quality and favoring rainwater recovery and the circular economy. The agreement guarantees, moreover, fair distribution of added value. A new communication campaign on the benefits of consuming 100% local quality meat, launched at the end of April, will continue until August 19 in supermarkets.
