Air Austral’s new governance in place

Air Austral's mode of administration has moved from a company system with a board of directors to that of a supervisory board backed by a management board., March 24, during an extraordinary general meeting. The company thus returns to its original configuration, which was called into question a few years ago by its former president Marie-Joseph Malé. The new supervisory board is made up of 14 members : 8 members for RunAir, majority shareholder of the company at approximately 55%, and 6 members for Semata which holds approximately 44% of the capital. In addition, a representative of the collective of employee shareholders will soon be appointed. The very first board of the company immediately met and appointed Huguette Bello, president of Sematra, as Chairman of the Supervisory Board Michel Deleflie, RunAir representative, as vice-president. The members of the board also agreed on the composition of the new management board of Air Austral and appointed Joseph Bréma as its president.. “We work hard to ensure profitability and competitiveness”, commented Michel Deleflie. “We decided to relaunch the company on the basis of private management, without denying the DNA of Air Austral, which has always been public and private, except that we return to the fundamentals which guarantee the exercise of a private public service mission, for the benefit of Reunion Islanders, and the Mahorais too. »
