To celebrate the 75th anniversary of its iconic cocktail, Cointreau unveils a limited edition bottle made in collaboration with street artist Insane 51.
Continuing the tradition of artistic collaborations that have marked the identity of the house since its creation, Cointreau and Insane 51 present this bottle whose decoration is based on the 3D anaglyph technique, which made the reputation of the artist. Superimposing the creation of a Margarita on the stylized representation of oranges, this unique limited edition marks the 75th anniversary of the iconic cocktail : the daisy. It is also the first interactive limited edition : a QR Code printed on the bottle invites you to discover a filter specially designed to reveal the work in three dimensions.
Insane 51 continues the tradition
Urban frescoes created using the 3D anaglyph technique have earned the 30-year-old Greek artist the status of street art pioneer. Combining graffiti, photorealism, optical illusion and digital interactivity, his works seduce with their ability to transgress the usual codes of street art. It is this approach that convinced Cointreau to choose it to perpetuate the house’s tradition of iconoclastic artistic communication..
Margarita : an iconic cocktail
This limited edition celebrates 75 years of one of the most iconic cocktails in the world. Socialite Margaret “Margarita” Sames first prepared this cocktail in 1948 for her guests in Acapulco. Since, The Margarita has survived the decades and still stands out as a reference cocktail to combine with Cointreau. The Margarita is part of the history of the singular orange liqueur which allowed its creation. Car, as Margaret Sames said, “A Margarita without Cointreau is not worth its salt”.
