As the heat of the southern summer approaches, a little freshness does us good. Speaking of fresh, I don't just think of the delicious ice creams of Leu Piton Glacé, the new brand of Reunion ice cream that we wanted to present to you in this issue. I think of the youth of the family team who have been leading this project vigorously for two years.. A family business like no other : its entrepreneurship model around a united core of brothers, sisters and spouses, all in the same age group (25-35 ans), is probably unique to Réunion. The project is in their image : innovative and diverse. Between vegan and cultural practices, many people in Réunion will be sensitive to Leu Piton Glacé's desire to offer ice cream without eggs and without gelatin, that is to say without ingredients of animal origin apart from milk. Crowned with its stamp of authenticity, artisanal ice cream is on the rise in Reunion. It is to this request that Leu Piton Glacé responds. It’s no surprise that restaurateurs and distributors are giving this young and dynamic team a chance.. Much of our information, in this end of year issue, echo this entrepreneurial spirit. I am thinking of the two online sales sites for local products : Weva et Univert Péi. I think of Mozzarun, Reunionese mozzarella with its festive products. I am thinking of the opening of Decathlon Saint-Denis and the first KFC in Reunion. Still new with the coffee ranges, beers and wines that Edena Boissons invites us to discover at the end of the year. And I don't forget the construction industry with the passage of the Reunion activities of the former Lafarge Holcim under the flag of the Mauritian Cementis, which also testifies to a dynamic encompassing Reunion. In short, I see so many reasons to look forward to 2022 with optimism, and this despite the persistence of the pandemic. And of course this is the opportunity for me to wish you, with even more pleasure, Happy holidays and a year 2022 full of success.
