Reunionese cuisine at Picard

The Picard teams wanted to honor the emblematic dishes of Reunionese cuisine. Developed by Picard Réunion in collaboration with Maison Isautier and Sapmer, three recipes inspired by Reunionese gastronomy are distributed in the national network of Picard stores, as well as at Reunion.

It's for lunch – at the Dionysian restaurant L’Orangerie – that the press invited, January 11, Bruno Guilleminot, general manager of Picard Réunion, Cyril Isautier, general manager of Rums&Punchs Isautier, and Adrien de Chomereau, CEO of Sapmer. Au menu : the three recipes inspired by Reunionese cuisine which have appeared in the Picard national catalog since January. A project initiated the day after a stay at the meeting of the national marketing director of the brand, fin 2019. Seduced by Reunionese cuisine, she wanted to see it join the Picard offer. Two years later, the French number one in frozen products adds Réunion to its range of world cuisines (Cuisine Evasion). An entry : a albacore tuna tartare, vegetables, ginger, sauce passion. A dish : the essential Rougail sausages, white rice and cooked lentils. A dessert : an Ice Cream with Isautier Rum and Victoria pineapple, an arranged rum recipe. Mainly aimed at metropolitan customers, these three products are manufactured in mainland France from proposals resulting from the collaboration between Picard Réunion, Sapmer and Maison Isautier. “It is a great pride for us to see Picard open up to Reunionese cuisine in this way., because we hope, through these recipes, contribute to making Réunion shine in mainland France” rejoices Bruno Guilleminot. The Reunion range is currently available in more than 1,040 Picard stores in mainland France and in the 10 Reunion stores..

Responsible fishing and development of the territory

Entering the Picard catalog also means meeting the brand’s requirements in terms of sustainable development.. The brand never fails to highlight its commitments in this area with, notably, a range of responsible products promoting local areas (sustainable fishing and aquaculture, organic products, eco-design of products and packaging…). Requirements shared by Sapmer and Isautier. Adrien de Chomereau recalls that “Sapmer and its teams have always been committed to a responsible fishing approach across all of its fisheries.”. “We are happy to be able to contribute to making the gastronomic richness of our island known beyond the borders” declares Cyril Isautier. Picard in Reunion, in mainland France and around the world

Since his arrival in 2013, Picard has anchored itself in the life of the Reunion Islanders. The company has 45 employees on the island.. An eleventh store will soon open in Le Tampon. The Picard network will thus have more than 1,050 stores in mainland France and overseas.. Internationally, Picard is also present in Belgium, Great Britain, Italy, Japan, Luxembourg, Netherlands, Sweden, Norway and Singapore. Its turnover was 1,5 billion euros in 2020.
