Eco-responsible hairdressing, a way forward

Reunion Island is not behind on the natural and organic hairdressing trend. Example with the Végétalement Provence show in Saint-Denis.

On the Facebook page of the Dionysian salon Végétalement Provence, is lit : “We are two experienced hairdressers” Claire & Séverine” and we love our job, we have a sense of professionalism which for our part is very important. This means that we know how to listen, advise, execute, but also and above all not to take yourself too seriously, (we like to laugh and joke with our customers), we like to have a good time with them, this allows us to meet great people. »
Everything is said about the atmosphere, but also on the level of requirement and professionalism. “Facebook is a good way to communicate but you have to know how to manage it, explains Claire. When someone simply asks me if I can do this or that, I explain how things are going at home, how we will first take the time to discuss to make a diagnosis and see if the client's choice is really the one that suits her. You don't choose a hairstyle at random without thinking. »

Scents of Provence
On Facebook, Claire also explains her commitment to natural products. Established for four years on rue Sainte-Marie in a charming little Creole house, a stone's throw from Juliette-Dodu college, this professional works exclusively with products from the alternative cosmetics brand Végétalement Provence, made from essential oils of flowers and plants. This is what gives the hair salon the right to bear the name of this brand renowned for these innovations.. Three other exhibitions in Reunion, who follow the same path, bear this name : Vegetal Provence. This is an independent salon partnership with a manufacturer and not a franchise.

An ethics of hairdressing
“I love my job, and respecting both customers and nature has always been my choice. Commitment to naturalness in hairdressing, either we are completely there, either we are not there. It’s a choice from the start, and a way of working. Customers feel the difference, and we too who work daily with these products” And “obviously because they know us”, this approach helped to get through confinement. We are sure that, at Végétalement Provence, health protection rules are scrupulously applied. “We have not yet completely returned to our normal functioning, because people go out less. But we manage to work well” declares Claire.
