Having held important positions within the Orange group internationally and in mainland France, an experienced pilot is at the helm of Orange Réunion Mayotte.

Public Works Engineer by training, Jean-Marc Escalettes began his career, for more than ten years, within an IT services company before joining the IT department management of France Télécom Réseau et Services Internationaux. Gradually migrating towards business, it was in the team in charge of Orange Operator relations that he learned about the international dimension of the French telecoms operator.. He is assigned to Washington as part of the regionalization of France Telecom's global activities which follows the deregulation of the telecoms market.. CEO (general manager) France Telecom Long distance, it leads commercial negotiations with other network operators from a group of countries including the Americas, Africa and the Middle East. From the American capital, it also manages the Orange IP network in the USA.
Ten years later, Jean-Marc Escalettes becomes Deputy General Manager of Orange Dominicana, then number one in the Dominican Republic (three million customers out of 11 million inhabitants). It is then the experience of the business manager in contact with customers that he acquires.
A key moment for the Reunion
Back in mainland France three years later, Jean-Marc Escalettes continues his career by developing the digital transition of businesses, crucial competitiveness issue for both small and large businesses. He first worked in the North-East of France Business Department., then to that of the South-West ; finally in Paris at the national direction of Pro PME (two billion euros in turnover). It is therefore with a wide diversity of experiences and responsibilities that Jean-Marc Escalettes took over as general manager of Orange Réunion-Mayotte in January 2019., in an important period for the future of the island. “We use the power of a global Group to serve our local roots in Reunion and Mayotte. This is all the more necessary at this moment when we are clearly witnessing in Reunion a general shift in favor of digital since the end of confinement” underlines Jean-Marc Escalettes who will also be, at the head of Orange Réunion Mayotte, the key player in the future deployment of 5 G locally.
