Jean-Claude Boyer elected entrepreneur of the year 2024

Rising star of the Reunion hotel industry, Jean-Claude Boyer was elected “entrepreneur of the year 2024” by our colleague L’Eco austral, on November 21 for the Tecoma Awards ceremony.

The ceremony took place at the Stella Matutina museum in Saint-Leu, and Huguette Bello, president of the Réunion region, personally presented his trophy to the winner. Jean-Claude Boyer won over the jury of 200 business leaders formed by Eco austral for the quality of the establishments he has opened on the island since 2015 : the Dina Morgabine of Saint-Gilles les Bains and Saint-Denis, the Tuit-Tuit and the Papangue, inaugurated this year in La Plaine-des-Palmistes and L’Étang-Salé. Three other leaders were in the running : Sébastien Camus (Réunimer-South Fishery, seafood products), Laetitia Novello (Reunion Training Institute) and Dominique Valgresy (GMD SAS group, distribution of agricultural inputs and equipment, agricultural training). For this 26th edition of the Tecoma Awards, four category prizes were also awarded. Jean-Christophe Habot (Feelbat) received the prize for best progress, for the success of its crack detectors on buildings. In the Innovation category, the winner is Bruno Dumortier, founder of the Greenskin company, which has developed an economical module for green walls and roofs, which he is now experimenting with in association with photovoltaic sensors. Marina Féat-Gultzgoff, founder of the cosmetics brand Omaïdo, received the Tecoma Award for dynamism outside, for the first markets won by its products using various plants from the biodiversity of the Indian Ocean. Finally, in the CSR category, Jing Wang-Schmitt was rewarded for his company Eco Impact, dedicated to the ecological transition of the fashion and clothing sector. The other nominees for the Tecoma Awards 2024 were Romain Desvignes (Keylodge) a Sven Daudon (communications agency Court-Circuit) in the Progress category ; Julien Tenenbaum (Flowly) and Rémi Voluer (Seeds) for Innovation ; Ashley Gaüzère (Hub2) and Malika Mimoune and Carole Wong-Wha (lingerie-swimwear brand La Jolie Fun), for dynamism outside ; Jean-François Moutoussamy (Air Safety Meeting) and Arthur Ah-Nieme and Karim Juhoor (Efuzif design office) for CSR.
