Jardin d’Orante campaigns for more transparency on origins. In the pickle section of our hypermarkets, the brand clearly displays the origin of its raw material, whether French or Indian. Through the Fair Trade approach, Jardin d’Orante wishes to provide additional assurance to its consumers. For now, the Fair Trade label is indicated on the back of the jars. At term, it should be visible on the main label. This represents 650,000 jars.
Fair Trade criteria
– Equal pay between men and women, ban on child labor.
– Development bonus for farmers corresponding to 15% in addition to the purchase price of the raw material.
– Use of this bonus to improve their social conditions, economic and environmental.
– Strict standards established to ensure health and safety.
– Minimum use of pesticides in fields and, if it is inevitable, use of products authorized via specifications established with Reitzel agronomic engineers, maximum limitation of their application rate.
