The new Imperial Maple Cask reference from the Dominican Barceló distillery is added to the Rare Blends collection launched in 2022. This exceptional vintage, aged for one year in maple wood, has a unique character, fruity and delicious to seduce the most demanding palates.
Sixth most exported rum brand in the world, the Dominican brand Barceló produces rums made from 100% pure sugar cane juice. The distillery is one of the rum houses which cultivate their own cane fields and thus control the entire rum production process., from field to bottle. This Caribbean distillery offers a variety of rums recognized for their qualities. With his Rare Blends trilogy, the Barceló distillery highlights its emblematic reference Barceló Imperial, traditional vintage, distilled in columns and aged in a tropical environment. Since its launch, Barceló Imperial has become the most awarded Dominican rum by international organizations. Imperial Maple Cask is the second vintage in this unique collection after the Imperial Porto Cask launched in 2022.
The latest addition to the Rare Blends collection
Assembled from old Barceló Imperial reserves aged eight to ten years in former Bourbon barrels, Imperial Maple Cask is then left to rest for an additional year with maple staves.. A finish which offers an exclusive and unusual aromatic potential to this rum. Strongly influenced by the rich vanilla and fruity aromas of maple wood, this tasting rum reveals a complex character and beautiful depth. In the glass, it is distinguished by a beautiful amber color with reddish nuances that recalls the color palette of maple leaves in the fall. “Our Barceló Imperial Maple Cask rum is the result of a marriage between the know-how of the Barceló house and a perpetual desire for innovation. Founded in 1929 by the Spaniard Juliàn Barceló, the distillery produces emblematic rums of the Dominican Republic, which have attracted the local market, then international. In 2016, the distillery has initiated a new turn in a nearly century-old history with notable sustainability and carbon neutrality initiatives. Barceló produced the world's first carbon-neutral rum. The brand also takes part in the program promoted by the United Nations on climate change Climate Neutral Now.
