The consumer price index measured by INSEE in November confirms a growing differential between inflation in Reunion and mainland France.. Over a year, prices increase by 3,5% on the island while their increase reaches 6,2% in mainland France (outside Mayotte). The gap goes almost double for food products, whose prices increase by 6,5% in Reunion and 12,1% nationally. It is also important on energy prices : +10% on the island in one year, +18,4% in France. The differential is less significant on the prices of services (+1,6% locally, +3 % au national) and manufactured products (3,7% against 4,4 %). For the month of November only, consumer prices increased by 0,7% in Reunion, more than in October (+0,2 %). The biggest increase concerns energy, whose prices are increasing overall by 5,1 %. Electricity prices are stable, but those of petroleum products jump by 6,9 %, after state fuel aid ends mid-month.
