Of the 2,000 marmays present at the start of the competition, 200 finalists, from the four corners of the island, played the final on Sunday, November 12 at the Paul-Julius-Bénard Olympic stadium in Saint-Paul. JS Saint-Pierroise for boys and AS Jeanne d’Arc for girls won the 2023 competition.
Every year, the Danone Nations Cup and the Réunion Football League are mobilizing to organize a double football tournament for girls and boys. Sign of the times, this year the value of fair play was also highlighted. Each team captain, feminine as masculine, signed a fair play charter. During matches, particularly exemplary actions in terms of fair play were rewarded with a green card. “We are proud to announce that it is EF Saint-Gilles, girls and boys, who won the fair play trophy of the Danone Nations Cup Réunion 2023”, declared François Gillet, director of Danone Réunion. He adds : “Just like the supporters’ challenge, this reward is an opportunity to send strong messages to children.
