FREEGÔNES :the freedom to do business by cargo bike

Just arrived in Reunion Island at the initiative of Clovis Location, specialist in the rental of industrial and utility vehicles, this new generation electric cargo bike is suitable for a multitude of professions, from messaging and parcel delivery to itinerant food sales and craftsman vehicles, waste collection or maintenance of green spaces.

Gérard Têtu has imagined a modular electric cargo bike.

Freegones have proven themselves : the very first ones have been circulating in mainland France for almost seven years now. Designed by Gérard Têtu, founder of the Lyon company Kleuster, this electric utility vehicle is now produced on average 800 units per year. It has already won over major operators, such as Véolia, Intermarket, E.Leclerc Drive, Lime, City Sport, or the Metropolis of Lyon. Defining itself as a carbon-free urban mobility solution, Freegônes has it all, with the major advantage compared to other types of cargo bike, its modularity. Its unique chassis can accommodate five different cells, which opens its use to a multitude of professions : a dry cell, an isothermal cell, une cellule type food truck, a tray cell and a dump cell. Offering two cubic meters of useful volume, the dry cell has a carrying capacity of 350 kg. With a temperature range of -25°C to +4°C, the isothermal cell has ATP technical approval. The waste bin cell dumps automatically in around twenty seconds into a truck or container. The flatbed model is suitable for transporting garden and park tools. “This cargo bike can attract professional customers in the urban and coastal areas of Reunion looking for carbon-free transport.. The electric assistance is activated as soon as the unevenness of the road requires it. It is really impressive to see how well this bike is adapted to the roads of Reunion. » Came to Reunion to present his vehicle in April, Gérard Têtu cited a start observed on a slope of 18% !

Cyclo-logistics provided by Renault Trucks
The 100% electric Freegônes has a range of 80 km. The battery is recharged using a wall outlet and takes five hours. The vehicle is equipped with motorcycle braking. Its dimensions are 1,50 m high, 1,80 m long and 1,10 m de large. It allows you to reach a speed of 15 km/h. Having access to roads, cycle paths and pedestrian zones, the Freegônes is able, thanks to its agility and small size, to get as close as possible to the delivery locations. He goes especially to the city center, where utility vehicles will find it increasingly difficult to go in the future. Renault Trucks was not mistaken when it saw the link in this vehicle, the missing link in the transport chain, in addition to the “last kilometer” following heavy goods vehicles and utility vehicles. Kleuster partner, Renault Trucks ensures the maintenance and repairs of the Freegônes in Reunion and in mainland France.

Available at Clovis Location
The marketing of Freegônes is ensured in Reunion by Clovis Location, who offers it for sale, but especially in full service rental (maintenance appointment included). Two formulas are offered depending on needs : short-term rental, from a few days to a month ; long-term rental, up to forty-eight months.
