The fiber leader in Reunion is upgrading its network to XGPON, the most efficient fiber optic technology on the market. After a year marked by the launch of its new box and the introduction of fiber to the room (FTTR), a first in France, the company once again confirms its commitment to offering the most innovative technologies to Reunion Islanders.
Zeop continues to consolidate its role as technological leader in Reunion by deploying XGPON (10 gigabit-capable passive optical network), designed to deliver ultra-fast speeds of up to 10 Gbps, ten times faster than FTTH networks (fiber to the home) traditional. Zeop is thus modernizing its infrastructures to meet the growing demands of its subscribers in terms of speed and usage.. This technology makes it possible to meet the growing bandwidth needs of Reunion Islanders generated by uses such as teleworking., ultra high definition streaming (4K and 8K), online games and industrial applications requiring fast and stable data transmission. By the end of 2025, 50% of Reunion households on the zeop network will be eligible for an XGPON offer, making Réunion a pioneer island in terms of very high-speed connectivity.
Huawei, strategic partner
This progress is made possible by infrastructure upgrades through a strategic partnership with Huawei, who also contributed to the launch of the Zeop box, unveiled last November. “This box continues to represent excellence in residential connectivity, offering quality coverage in the home and an optimized user experience, especially since it is the only box on the French market to be FTTR compatible”, calls back the operator. These innovations confirm Zeop’s positioning * as a key player in the digital transformation of the island.
