Caillé Auto continues its quest for Reunion talent. Erika Vélio, aeronautical engineer at Airbus, involved in the Artemis project to return to the Moon, becomes the new ambassador of the DS brand in Reunion.
High technology, power, elegance : many qualifiers applying to the DS brand are found in the personality of Érika Vélio. Aeronautical engineer at Airbus Defense Space, Érika Vélio is working on the international Artémis project which will send a crew of astronauts to the Moon in 2024. The technological challenge of this project is coupled with a considerable symbolic challenge. Firstly, no human foot has set foot on our satellite since 1969. On the other hand, for the first time, a female astronaut will be on the trip and will leave her mark on the lunar sand. It is of course the exemplary career of Érika Vélio that convinced Caillé Auto to call on her. Born in Saint-Paul in a rather modest environment (his father was a mechanic, his housewife mother), Érika Vélio pays tribute to the public school which allowed her to reach the high level of skills and career that she enjoys today. After working for Arianespace in Guyana, She now works in the Netherlands where she leads one of the teams working on the design of the Orion capsule., the future vehicle of the astronaut crew. Érika Vélio is also, since a long time, committed to the professional advancement of women. She intervenes in schools to encourage young people from Reunion, starting with the young girls, to believe in their ability and to have ambition. As brand ambassador for DS Automobiles Réunion, Erika Vélio will be at the wheel of a New DS 4 inspired by Rivoli.
