The head of the Indian Ocean-Pacific export zone of the Bel group, confirmed triathlon athlete, had set the goal of succeeding in the Enduroman, the hardest triathlon in the world, 500 km between London and Paris including swimming across the English Channel. After four years of preparation, she accomplished this feat from July 9 to 12.
Géraldine Le Merrer has joined the very restricted club of athletes who have successfully completed the Enduroman, the most spectacular part of which is obviously swimming across the Channel : Only 57 people have achieved this since 2001, year of creation of the test.
It is therefore a real achievement that must be saluted.. This success is also that of the team which allowed the champion to prepare physically and mentally : Joel Haus, his trainer ; Damien Giroussens, his spouse ; Audrey Larivière, doctor ; Elina Antraygue, athlete friend ; William Decaudoin, physiotherapist, for physical preparation ; Sébastien Coupy for mental preparation ; Thibaut Albouy for nutrition. “Arriving in the world of triathlon late by completing my first Half Ironman in 2018, I quickly became passionate about this race that is the Enduroman. Registered in June 2020 with the organization and after four years of preparation, I had the chance to introduce myself, last July 9, on the starting line of this extreme triathlon. Accompanied by my staff of five people, I experienced three days of incredible intensity. I want to share this insane challenge, to prove that anything is possible ! » A sporting adventure to discover in four episodes in the Zéro Limites podcast.
