Wednesday is now, at Leclerc Réunion, children's day… and fruit.
Since Wednesday September 21, and without an end date, E.Leclerc Réunion offers a fruit to each child who accompanies their parents during checkout. This original initiative is launched by E.Leclerc Réunion in all stores on the island. Banana, tangerine or orange, the fruits distributed can be immediately consumed. The brand thus intends to promote a healthy and balanced diet for children by promoting fruit consumption., good for their health. “Despite this difficult period of inflation which affects each of us, our first wealth remains our health. This is why we are proud to offer fruit to children and thus contribute, however modestly, to the well-being of our future generations”, explains Jeremy Rouach, director of the E.Leclerc store in Bras-Panon. This operation was notably inspired by the study “Understanding access to food for the most precarious in Reunion”, carried out by the French Red Cross. This highlights the fact that 39% of families using food aid say they lack fruits and vegetables on a daily basis..
For responsible and committed distribution
For Pascal Thiaw-Kine, president of the E.Leclerc Réunion Movement, “This type of operation perfectly illustrates our desire to be part of a responsible and committed distribution approach. Our role is to allow all Reunion families to consume fresh products., healthy and quality. This requires low and fair prices, but also by promoting these products on our shelves or through original operations, educational and friendly”.
