DOM’IMPORT, training that is more relevant than ever

Provided by the Hosmosed organization, DOM’IMPORT training (“Being an importer in the French Overseas Territories and controlling your approach costs”) is topical because the vagaries of maritime transport have a lasting influence on the island's supplies. It is also so because this remote continuing training is accessible at any time of the year, what is unique in Reunion.

Héloïse Delhoume, founder of Homosed.

How to anticipate import costs ? How to read a freight forwarder’s invoice ? On what lines can you trade? ? Why are the overseas territories subject to specific taxes upon entry into the territory? ? These questions, and many others, find their answers in DOM’IMPORT, one of the continuing professional training courses offered by Hosmosed. The transport chain and its costs, Incoterms (international rules defining the obligations of each party in a transaction), customs and regulations, calculating the final cost of an import : these are the four main parts articulating DOM’IMPORT, where the sharing of experiences echoes practical knowledge. “Checking a freight forwarder invoice is sometimes a feat, thus observes Héloïse Delhoume, founder of Hosmosed and trainer at the origin of DOM’IMPORT. Whether large commercial and industrial importing companies have specialized personnel, this is not the case for VSEs and SMEs. The training is largely aimed at the latter., like the character of Sophie, avatar guiding the learner through their training journey : business creator, Sophie opens a store and discovers the complexity of importing. Héloïse Delhoume immediately asks the question : “You are an importer. Are you sure that it is in your interest to stay that way and not to go through a wholesaler who will free you from the constraints of import and storage? ? »

Constantly updated training
“I have been on three sides of the fence” : this is how Héloïse Delhoume, summarizes his solid professional experience, acquired from a freight forwarder, then within a shipping company and finally in an import company. Launched two and a half years ago, DOM’IMPORT is a locally designed training course, known and proven, on all organizational aspects, techniques, regulatory and financial aspects of the import activity. This training has evolved in its form and has been updated over the years depending on, notably, regulations and constraints linked to the geopolitical context of maritime transport. First face-to-face, DOM’IMPORT has now become fully remote and accessible all year round. It is presented in the form of interactive thematic modules between learners and the trainer., practical exercises, testimonials from professionals in the import chain operating in Reunion. Everything takes place on the 360 Learning platform, which gives this approach to continuing education maximum flexibility. DOM’IMPORT is currently the only training of this type in Reunion Island.

Organizational flexibility to manage
Qualiopi certified, Hosmosed allows you to request funding from your OPCO as part of continuing training. Access to the training is open for three months with the standard formula and four months with the pro formula. The six modules, twenty to thirty minutes each, are followed by practical exercises to do and send. Practical sheets and articles on import news are downloadable. In terms of organization, Héloïse Delhoume advises blocking two hours per week for DOM’IMPORT
