More than 750 internships and more than 90 scholarships awarded : GBH has been a partner of the Marguerite-Jauzelon high school in Bellepierre for twenty years. The group finances internships for students in preparatory classes for high schools. This year, there are eight of them who immersed themselves for three weeks in Cape Town, in South Africa.
“I was an intern at the Cape Town Science Center, a scientific museum which mainly welcomes children and adolescents. My traveling companions and I were staying with host families.. Being with these families forced us to speak English, this is why this experience was truly enriching. The city is very beautiful and the people, very warm. It’s a trip we’ll all remember.”, testifies Leanne Paula. With seven other comrades, she took the plane at the beginning of July for Cape Town to carry out her observation and linguistics internship thanks to GBH’s partnership with Bellepierre high school, renamed Marguerite-Jauzelon at the end of 2023. It is through the English language exchange organization Good Hope Studies that placements (host families and internships) were carried out. The students were accompanied by one of their teachers.
A partnership renewed this year
The Marguerite-Jauzelon high school renewed at the end of May the agreement which has linked it to GBH since 2004. Supporting the training of young people in several ways, following the example of the Distrisup diploma with the IAE and the Tremplin pour l’emploi with the Second Chance school, the Bernard Hayot group attributes, every year, internship scholarships abroad for students in high school preparatory classes deemed the most deserving and motivated to succeed in the entrance exams to major business schools. The 2024 scholarships were awarded at the end of May by Michel Lapeyre, Director Indian Ocean and Africa GBH, in the presence of the general director of GBH, Stéphane Hayot, and many personalities from both the worlds of education and business.
