It is uncommon, in the meeting, to hear automotive fuel distribution professionals speak on the subject of energy transition and mobility. But the general manager of Vivo Energy Réunion, Mayess Marrakchi, has a lot to say about how Vivo Energy and its brand Engen have chosen to take this subject head on by reinventing the very concept of a service station. Also I want to thank M. Marrakchi for kindly being our guest in this end-of-year issue, and to introduce us to a brand that is both familiar and unknown and a very large energy group, become the number one on the African continent, and its commitments for the future.
Vivo Energy Réunion offers the service station of tomorrow on the island. Inaugurated in 2018, the Beauséjour station in Sainte-Marie is the model of this evolution. These innovations in terms of eco-responsibility are now being implemented in other Engen stations which are undergoing renovation work.. I will not go into further detail about the interview Mayess Marrakchi gave us and will leave you with the surprise of the discovery.. The last quarter was all about digital. Events in the tech sector have come one after the other, to the point that it seemed justified to bring together the main stakeholders to see how it all fits together and feeds into each other.. The AI tour de France organized by Medef and the association of digital companies Numeum was launched from Reunion Island. A few days later, the Réunion Region launched its cybersecurity brand Cyber Réunion. The inauguration of the Océinde group’s Omega 1 data center brought this series to a successful close. Isn’t this the visionary look that Abdéali Goulamaly had on Reunion?, founder of the Océinde group, which is carried out in this new equipment ? I want to pay tribute here to the memory of this great captain of industry who largely contributed to making Reunion Island a land of innovation.. I wish you happy holidays and a year 2025 full of success.
