Developed by the French start-up GreenBig, la B :bot is a practical and intelligent machine that gives a serious facelift to the process of sorting and recycling plastic bottles.
La B :bot is both a machine and a digital ecosystem that is revolutionizing the collection of plastic bottles and reinventing the deposit. By crushing them and sorting them by colors immediately in the B :bot, this machine saves time while shortening the recycling loop. This solution is innovative from an ecological and economic point of view. : by densifying the material at the source and transforming it, it optimizes transport and storage while reducing costs. B :bot has a storage capacity of 3,600 bottles in less than one square meter. Without constraint for the stores where it is installed, la B :bot is attractive for customers who can drop off all their plastic bottles. The machine collects and sorts all types of plastic bottles.
She turns them into sorted sequins. Once the bottle has been placed in the machine, recognition is done by barcode reading at 360 °. Packages are monitored by optical sensors for size calibration, plastics detection, possible detection of metal for exclusion. If the bottle still contains too much liquid, she is fired.
96 large equipped areas
Sorted straws are stored in five bins ensuring quick emptying. In addition, with its embedded intelligence (connexion 4G), la B :bot allows remote monitoring of filling and maintenance. The PLC machine feeds back the data in real time. In the event of a problem, diagnostics and, if necessary, troubleshooting are carried out remotely. For emptying, an alert is sent at 80% of filling to order the intervention. Equipped with a modular digital interface, the machine is ready for all types of instructions: loyalty card reading, lecture de QR code-NFC-RFID, ticket printing. Its exact footprint is 0,89 m2.
La B :bot is a machine designed and entirely manufactured in France. The production site is based in Dieppe, near the port of Le Havre in the Toshiba partner factory of 40,000 m2 which employs 230 employees. 15 machines B:bot per week are currently manufactured. :bot became known through Citeo (formerly Eco Emballage and Ecofolio) which tests and supports new collection and sorting solutions through calls for tenders. This is how GreenBig, inventor and manufacturer of concept B :bot, has already convinced a large number of supermarket chains. The company was already scheduled to deliver 183 machines at the end of last year, in order to take place in 96 supermarkets and hypermarkets.
GreenBig : the plastic bottle is self-financing
GreenBig is a start-up created in September 2017, by Benoit Paget, Fabien Rimé and Baptiste Danezan. Their goal is to develop innovative means that meet the challenges of the circular economy. Owner of three European patents for his B machine :bot, GreenBig has therefore developed this revolutionary solution by building an ecologically and economically virtuous economic model where "the plastic bottle is self-financing".
The interested Cinor ?
Three questions for Benoit Paget, co-founder and CEO of GreenBig.
A deployment of B :bot in Reunion would it be possible ?
Yes, of course. We are in discussion with several partners. And the Cinor seemed interested a few months ago, to the point of pre-ordering 50 machines. We hope that the deployment can be done very quickly.
Have you ever been contacted by overseas supermarkets ?
Yes, some : Leclerc. Also by partners who wish to be distributors, or communities, like the Cinor in Réunion
Should specific logistics be implemented locally for the remote management of the device ?
Non. The machine is connected via a classic "data" connection (4G, wifi or wired), so we can monitor a machine in Réunion as we would in Normandy.
Can we use plastic bottles of sparkling water?
