Chandon Garden Spritz : the taste of Argentina

Publicityspot_img

Since its founding, in 1959, at the foot of the Argentine Andes, Chandon produces sparkling wines in its six vineyards located around the world. His latest creation, Chandon Garden Spritz, is a blend of Chandon sparkling wine to which a secret recipe macerate is added, made from natural orange peel extracts, herbs and spices.

The secret of the Chandon Garden Spritz is well kept : at most we know that it is a spritz with natural orange peel extracts. In any case it redefines the universe of spritz. With the tangy and generous flavor which makes the spritz original, it combines a subtle blend of herbs and spices. Chandon Garden Spritz was inspired by Argentina's appetite for bitter flavors. However, the main ingredient is Chandon, a brut sparkling wine produced in Mendoza, in the foothills of the Argentinian Andes. A blend of Chardonnay grape varieties, Pinot noir and Sémillon grown at more than 1000 meters above sea level. The terroir and climate naturally favor freshness, the maturity and acidity sought for the production of wine. A long fermentation method in vats preserves the authentic taste of the grapes. The bitterness comes from a macerate of natural extracts of orange peels, herbs and spices with aromatic and fresh notes. Valencia oranges selected for their balance between acidity and sweetness, grown without pesticides and hand-picked on a family farm in the Province of Entre-Rios. The zests are removed then gently dried, in the oven. They are then macerated, combined with fresh peel and zest in grape brandy, with this special blend of herbs and spices, without any synthetic flavors or artificial colors. Alcohol content : 11,5 °. Available in a selection of wine merchants and wine merchants online and on www.CHANDONgarden.com.

Ana Paula Bartolucci, oenologist creator of the Chandon Garden Spritz

“I was born less than 60 km from the Chandon vineyards and I am proud to say that Chandon Garden Spritz is an authentic Argentinian product. From the start, we knew we wanted a bitter product, because these tasting notes are particularly appreciated, with us, in Argentina. For this composition, our winegrowers have studied oranges as if they were grapes in order to produce a very high quality spritz. We spent several years identifying the most favorable harvest period for obtaining the aromas we were looking for.. For several years, we tested different blends and recipes. It is the sixty-fourth proposal which finally won our support ! »

Chandon : six vineyards around the world

It's the end of the 50s, that Robert-Jean de Vogüé, then president of Moët & Chandon, has the audacity to redefine the world of wine by drawing inspiration from the know-how of champagne. His travels took him to Argentina where, in Mendoza, a semi-desert in the foothills of the Andes, he finds the ideal terroir to create expressive and aromatic wines. Since its founding in Argentina in 1959, Chandon has established itself as a House in its own right, producing high quality sparkling wines from unexpected terroirs. Today, Chandon operates its six vineyards located in Argentina, in California, in Brazil, in Australia, and more recently in China (2013) one one Inside (2014).
