Cash Converters : second-hand refurbished

Yesterday reserved for modest budgets, now celebrated as intelligent and responsible consumption, the purchase and resale of second-hand goods attracts an increasingly broad but also more demanding clientele. In the meeting, Cash Converters brings its stores in tune with new expectations.

Brighter, attractive and warm, the last two Cash Converters sales spaces opened in Reunion, Bel Air in Saint-Louis and the City format of rue Maréchal-Leclerc in Saint-Denis, initiated this change. The Holdmax group, who owns the Cash Converters franchise, is in tune with the expectations of a second-hand audience that is diversifying and expanding. Like the second-hand market brands nationally, Cash Converters Réunion had record sales in 2020. The second-hand market is on the rise and the new store concept, more qualitative, which is being put in place goes in this direction.

" Today, Cash Converters customers range from the 6,000 euro Rolex buyer to the student enjoying a 50 euro laptop. The customer base is evolving, the offer with her, and the profession too. We must welcome customers in stores that match the level of quality of the products and service we offer” explains Olivier Futol, sales director of Cash Converters Réunion. The renovation of the historic Saint-Clotilde store is scheduled to take place between now and the end of the year. (the first opened by the brand) and consideration of the possible opening of new points of sale on the island.

Six stores in Reunion

It must be remembered that, if the purchase and resale of second-hand products is the core business of Cash Converters, you can also find new products from clearance of metropolitan and European brands. New products represent 7 to 11% of the offer. This is currently the case, for example, with a range of household appliances benefiting from a two-year warranty.. The warranty period is another indicator of the evolution of Cash Converters Réunion : three months from the launch of the brand, today it reaches six months or one year on most products.

Cash Converters established itself locally ten years ago with the success that we know. The brand has six stores: Sainte-Clotilde, Saint-Denis Center, St.Paul, Saint Pierre, Saint Louis, Saint-André. It employs around forty people. Buyers and sellers who are trained regularly to gain expertise. This professionalization accompanies, her too, the evolution of the second-hand market. It often complements personal affinities with the product worlds : telephony, computer science, I am, photo, video games, jewelry, musique, household appliances, etc. This mix of skill and affinity, which facilitates contact with customers, contributes to the special atmosphere of Cash Converters stores.

Pioneers of the circular economy

Today we are far from the slogan of the beginnings : “Cash Converters gives cash and buys back your products”. It’s time for a change of image : “People have become aware of the opportunity that the opportunity really represents : it’s a different way of consuming. This positions us as pioneers of the circular economy” observes Olivier Futol. Enough to consolidate the place of the Reunion franchise among the most dynamic of the Cash Converters brand nationally : since 2017, the Cash Converters of Saint-Paul is for the third consecutive time the first in France out of the 120 stores of the brand, and the five other Reunion points of sale are in the Top 10 !

Le digital, a natural channel for the occasion

Cash Converters news, it is also the evolution of online sales. From now on, Cash Converters Réunion has a real local marketplace for second-hand products with its new marketplace www.cashconverters.re. In the digital chapter, we also find products sold locally on the site specializing in second-hand jewelry, Lebijoucash, another big success for Cash Converters nationally. Finally, another novelty, it has become possible to resell products online on the national Cash Converters website. The estimate is made from a descriptive form completed by the seller. A buyout amount is proposed on this basis. If the seller accepts it, he sends the product and the transaction is done.
