Known for its dynamism in the franchise sector, the L2D group (Levy Development Distribution) reveals, with the acquisition of the Reunion network of La Case à Pains bakeries and pastries, its ambitions in food.
To hear Olivier and Anne Levy, the founding directors of the L2D group, it is not only for La Case à Pains that a new page is opening, but also for the L2D group itself. Olivier and Anne Levy did not hide their satisfaction, and even their pride, to pilot, with the Bread Box, their first brand of their own, and no longer franchise. Six Case à Pains bakeries and one Ti Case à Pains, to which are added two mobile couriers : with this diversification in the food sector, it is a renowned Reunionese brand, both modern and carrying the traditional values of bakery craftsmanship, who will benefit from the entrepreneurial talents of Olivier and Anne Levy. A brand with significant potential, that its former owners had started to develop by relying on the creativity of the founder of the Case à Pains in 1998, David Sosso. As you don't change a winning team, Olivier and Anne Levy continue to work with David Sosso and his team, currently 30 employees.
Food, new horizon for the L2D group
With this redemption, food takes a leading place within the group which had turned to food by purchasing the Columbus Café franchise & Co in Réunion with a first point of sale at the Sacré Cœur du Port shopping center. Between beauty and food, Olivier and Anne Levy are now aiming for the threshold of 50 million euros in overall turnover for the group, carried out equally between the two sectors. To do this, the territorial coverage of La Case à Pains will be strengthened with the opening of four to five new “Case à Pains” in the next two years : the first two this year in the South where the brand is not present. A second Columbus Café & Co comes, his, to open in downtown Saint-Denis, rue Félix-Guyon. Here again, Olivier Levy declares that he is “looking forward to being able to offer the Columbus Café menu to the four corners of the island”.
A renewed vision of La Case à Pains
While affirming its desire to “remain artisans”, the L2D Group intends to bring La Case à Pains up to date. By developing Ti Case à Pains, For example, concept of a small boutique of 100 to 150 m² with a limited bread offering, pastries and savory foods, intended for neighborhoods. By diversifying, as needed, the production and supply of each bakery to better meet local demand. By integrating new consumption patterns with, notably, vegan products and a catering line in the name of the brand. “We will preserve, modernize and develop this beautiful brand to make it a gem of the Reunion market” promise Olivier and Anne Levy.
