The founders of the start-up CAPS ME do the math : over one year, coffee prepared with reusable capsules costs two to three times less than with disposable capsules.
Among the products that have suffered the biggest price increases in recent times, coffee is one of the top products! A situation not without consequences for the wallet, while more than eight out of ten people consume coffee, of which nearly two thirds now favor capsules or pods. In this context, consumers are on the lookout for the slightest solution to save money and preserve their purchasing power. This is why they are increasingly turning to reusable capsules, like the CAPS ME capsules. Launched in 2020 by Jean de Boisredon and Thibaut Louvet, two engineering students, CAPS ME capsules allow, in addition to a good gesture for the planet, save money on your coffee consumption. For a household of two people taking two capsule coffees each per day, the start-up estimated the average budget spent on disposable capsules at 540 euros over one year. By consuming reusable capsules, this same household could save 307 euros per year!
Gold medal in the 2021 Lépine competition
“We are convinced that the reusable capsule is the future of the disposable capsule, not only for ecological reasons, but also for economic reasons. A coffee prepared with our reusable capsules costs two to three times less than disposable capsules”, explains Jean de Boisredon, co-founder of CAPS ME. La start-up, which started its activity in November 2020, offers a kit composed of Nespresso compatible stainless steel coffee capsules, infinitely reusable, and a charger designed to facilitate their use. In less than two years, CAPS ME has sold more than 10,000 kits and crossed the 2 mark,5 million capsules reused by its customers. Winner of the gold medal of the Lépine competition in 2021, the CAPS ME solution is intended to be both ecological, economic, practical and made in France.
