Both technology and pedagogy, Pronounce is the first product from the French company Polyglot SA, founded in 2021 and subsidiary of the Tomatis group, world leader in sound neurosensory stimulation. Its leaders put this know-how at the service of a new way of learning English.
« Pronounce, we are convinced of it, can change lives and boost careers”, declares Grégoire Tomatis, co-founder of Pronounce. The format of learning methods has evolved significantly with the development of tutoring platforms, of e-learning, digital applications, etc. However, their methodology remains traditional. Pronounce stands out for its immersive technology and its pedagogy focused exclusively on oral expression. For two years, a team of neurolinguists, of educational engineers and English coaches have developed the Pronounce repetition technique, called ARRT (automatic & rhythmic repetition technique). This method consists of rhythmically and automatically repeating words, but also sentences which are first cut into pieces and gradually assembled to constitute a complete sentence. We follow the story of six characters with different accents in varied contexts. The Pronounce headset allows the user to begin this linguistic journey where speech is at the heart of learning. Its patented technology promotes the perception of English and improves pronunciation and verbal fluency. “This training allows you to progress twice as quickly compared to traditional learning”, says Grégoire Tomatis.
Tomatis technology
The Pronounce program is aimed at people with an intermediate level of English (A2-B2). They are invited to practice English from fifteen minutes per day, at home and in the office. The system combines two approaches. The patented dynamic filter technology is complemented by an original pedagogy. Pronounce leverages Tomatis technology, whose aim is to capture the attention of the brain through music and voice to develop cognitive faculties, and in particular language and communication. The dynamic filter is arranged to facilitate the perception of the rhythm of English. In return, the learner perceives his own voice modified and instantly improves his fluency.
A pedagogy based on orality
Orality is the main basis of the Pronounce educational program, designed to instantly put the learner in a listening and speaking situation. This approach avoids having to go through translation into your mother tongue. It is based on the sound aspect, musical and rhythmic of English, which is a break with traditional learning. For the most curious, the Pronounce YouTube channel offers exercises that are published regularly with new content accessible online.
