Air France-KLM announced at the end of September an order for 50 aircraft from Airbus for delivery from 2026 : A350s, particularly fuel efficient compared to previous generation devices.
These planes will replace part of the group's Boeing 777-200 and A330. Florence Calla, Indian Ocean Director of Air France, however indicated that the A350s are not intended to fly between mainland France and Reunion, because of their ability (266 seats in Economy class). On the Paris–Saint-Denis line, demand is very strong in this category and the 777-300, with their 430 seats at the rear, answer them. Air France has strengthened its positions on Paris-Réunion since 2019. It is the leader on this line and operates up to seven weekly flights from Orly and up to five from Roissy for the current season..
