The Pierrefonds Mixed Union and the Réunion Region signed a framework agreement on March 6 relating to an ambitious investment program : 83 million euros in six years to get the southern airport off the ground again, at a standstill since the start of the health crisis. The most important envelope (41,5 millions) will be dedicated to extending the track by 300 meters by 2025, to allow the reception of large aircraft. A new terminal will be built at the same time, for an amount of 28 million euros. The rehabilitation of the current terminal, the extension of aircraft parking areas, car parking and the light aviation zone are also on the 2021-2027 investment program. “The necessary adaptation of the Pierrefonds airport facilities is part of an approach to complement those of the Roland-Garros airport platform”, ensure the Mixed Union and the Region.
