As part of the Recovery Plan, the government supports recycling operations of wastelands and artificial land, by favoring operations which concern areas where the cessation of activity has been brutal and the decontamination of former industrial sites, housing or natural areas. The Ministry of Ecological Transition recently selected 16 overseas projects, including 5 in Reunion, for a total investment of 4,4 million euros. The following operations will be supported : decontamination and construction of housing on the site of the former Pierrefonds factory, in Saint-Pierre ; the installation of an economic activity zone on the Savanna site ; the rehabilitation into an economic zone and public facilities of the craft zone of the Refuge, in Bras-Panon ; asbestos removal from the former Apeca site, in Tampon ; the rehabilitation of the village hall and the former Leader Price building in Saint-André.
