In 2021, calls for projects have been launched throughout France as part of the government policy of “the first 1,000 days”, this period going from the parental project of conception of a child to the latter’s entry into school. “The public policy of the first 1000 days aims to act from early childhood against inequalities in destiny, to inform, encourage and support parents so that they can fully experience this unique period”, specifies the government. For the meeting, 4 projects were selected. That of the Jeanne d'Arc-Les Orchidées du Port clinic raises awareness among future parents of environmental health issues and works to reduce the exposure of newborns to endocrine disruptors through the use of reusable diapers.. A Saint-Pierre, the CHU offers future parents awareness workshops on environmental health, identification of couples exposed to environmental pollutants and risk assessments. A Saint-Paul, CHOR offers support to future parents in changing their behavior with regard to environmental pollutants, encourages the choice of reusable diapers and the reduction of exposure of newborns to endocrine disruptors. Finally, in Saint-Denis, the Women Engage for a Common Future association trains perinatal and early childhood professionals in health risks linked to exposure to environmental contaminants.
